Description

Kemp Quarries is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for all employees. Payroll Clerk Responsibilities include:

  • Calculate and process employee wages, deductions, and taxes accurately and on time
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies
  • Processing time clock reporting with meticulous attention to detail, always ensuring accuracy of employee and contractor time records
  • Tracking employee time off and ensuring the proper reporting of vacation, PTO, and holiday pay
  • Performing daily payroll transactions which include verifying, classifying, computing, and posting payroll data
  • Working closely with Human Resources to ensure accuracy of benefits deductions
  • Assist with year-end reporting, including W-2 processing
  • Assist with other related tasks and projects as needed
  • Stay up to date on all relevant federal and state payroll regulations

Requirements Include:

  • Proven work experience as payroll clerk or payroll administrator REQUIRED
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage payroll data and financial records
  • Data entry, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and payroll software
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of experience preferred
