The Opportunity
The Payroll Co-ordinator plays a key support role in the RCAS Finance Department by processing payroll and assisting with financial records management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage multiple routine accounting functions with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll
  • Maintain accurate employee time records, banking hours, vacation accruals, and other entitlements
  • Help generate ROEs, T4s, and other payroll documents, including PIER
  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries
  • Receive and code vendor invoices for input into the accounting system
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and ensure proper approvals
  • Assist in preparing EFT and cheque payments for review and processing
  • Track recurring payments, manage due dates, and flag discrepancies

Qualifications & Characteristics

  • Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with Pay Harmony
  • Working towards a PCP designation
  • Has minimum 5 years experience running Canadian payroll for a large organization
  • Has worked in an environment running multiple payrolls for different subsidiaries, with different payroll cut off dates
  • Experience with Sage Intacct
  • Can confidently answer employee questions related to their pay, and conduct investigations into payroll errors if required
  • Works with HR to ensure benefit administration is monitored and managed to ensure timely enrollment and disenrollment
  • Audits Benefits Statements to ensure invoice is correct before sending to Accounts Payable
