Overview WHO are we looking for? CAPTRUST is seeking a Payroll Consultant who will be responsible for all payroll functions. Excellent organizational skills with an eye for accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as the ability to thrive in a changing work environment. The ideal candidate for this position has deep analytical skills, the ability to handle high workload times, is reliable and is committed to always meeting deadlines. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others: Responsibilities Process, review and balance semi-monthly payroll Submit payrolls for salaried, hourly, and variable compensation employees Ensure payroll transactions are processed correctly for time, earnings, benefits, deductions, tax withholdings, garnishments, and other key payroll items Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions Enter data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs Perform basic accounting entries of payroll related activity Respond timely and effectively to payroll-related inquiries Investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards Analyze payroll procedures and recommend changes leading to best practices Handle payroll compliance matters such as multi-state / multi-jurisdiction tax withholding and garnishments Ensure completion of annual payroll related tax filings and tax amendments Willingness to dive into new roles and responsibilities Provide support / back-up for ongoing headcount processing and tracking Collaborate with other members of the Finance team to complete special projects as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a math-based field of study (accounting, math, finance, technology) At least 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing with 1,000+ employees Experience working with ADP payroll software Knowledge and understanding of Federal and State employment taxes Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and how payroll interacts with the Firm Financial Statements Desired Qualifications/Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to handle highly confidential information with utmost integrity Interest and/or experience in BI (Business Intelligence) software is a plus Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Able to lead by influence and gain trust of internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of federal and state employment law, tax law, and workers’ compensation Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word; etc.) and payroll and accounting systems Able to manage a high demand workload and pace WHAT can you expect from your career at CAPTRUST?
