Description

Position Summary:
The Payroll Coordinator will assist in the preparation and processing of the bi-weekly payroll cycle for veterinary clinics in the Blue River PetCare portfolio. This position will work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure all payroll cycles are processed efficiently with a high degree of accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities::

  • Assists in processing of bi-weekly payroll
  • Responds to payroll inquiries from our Practice Managers in a friendly and expedient manner
  • Educates managerial staff on how to complete various payroll functions
  • Reviews both voluntary and statutory deductions each payroll cycle for consistency
  • Downloads and reviews reports to ensure accuracy and completion
  • Responds to employee paycheck inquiries
  • Reviews, sorts, and processes physical mail
  • Collaborates with other team members to handle escalated payroll issues
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or requite experience is preferred

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent client service skills, including proper phone and email etiquette
  • Superb attention to detail is a must
  • 1-2 years of professional experience is highly preferred
  • Strong time management and organizational skills are essential
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in stressful situations
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for several continuous hours at a time
  • Must be able to look at 2+ computer monitors for several continuous hours at a time
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers in the office
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with managers at remote locations using email and phone. Must be able to exchange clear, accurate information in these situations.
  • Frequent keyboarding/use of computer for data entry

Technical Skills::

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $25-27 per hour
