JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes and ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery for our organization. This role requires proficiency in various payroll systems, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The Payroll Coordinator will work closely with the HR department and finance team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in payroll management or a similar role within an accounting or finance department.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for data entry tasks and payroll processing accuracy.
  • Experience in benefits administration and knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll is preferred.
  • Background in non-profit accounting or governmental accounting is a plus but not required.
  • Proficient in technical accounting practices with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Responsibilities
  • Administer payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy in calculations and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Utilize payroll software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, or similar systems to manage payroll functions efficiently.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits administration, and tax information.
  • Collaborate with HR on employee onboarding processes to ensure accurate data entry into the HRIS system.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports related to payroll taxes, benefits deductions, and other financial obligations.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
  • Support the finance team with general ledger accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
