SUMMARY
Processes, audits and enters wage and salary information into a variety of computer systems under the guidance or direction of the Payroll Coordinator. Assists with processes relating to accrual banks and other leaves of absences. Coordinates the transition of STD/LTD/WCB absences. Completes the timely processing of a range of payroll deductions. Completes Wage Loss Information letters to ICBC, WCB and lawyers. Provides Records of Employment for all leaves and interruptions of earnings. Prepares advances for vacations and hardship including the justification, recovery and reconciliation. Prepares journal entries for cross charge of salaries and benefits. Responds to all enquiries related to collective agreements, policies and procedures, statutory and legislative requirements. Runs a variety of reports for internal and external clients. Participates in system testing for implementation of new systems or updates of current processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Grade 12 graduation plus one (1) National Payroll Association Level One courses. Requires one (1) year of previous experience in working with a computerized pay system for a unionized work force, and where knowledge of statutory deductions has been gained. A further period of up to six (6) months in the job is required to become familiar with CMBC’s unionized payroll, procedures and policies.
