ABOUT US
City of Ryde, just 12 kilometres from Sydney CBD, is a place of unique lifestyle and opportunity. It is home to an engaged and culturally diverse community of around 130,000 people, and a strong and growing Smart City economy including more than 13,000 local businesses, Macquarie Park, world-class hospitals, and a leading university. All balanced with beautiful bushland, riverfront parks, open spaces, and sport facilities.
Our council delivers a broad range of services, projects, programs, and events. We are actively committed to innovation, sustainability, resilience and providing exceptional customer experiences, and this relies on attracting and keeping great people. We offer a range of benefits, including flexible work arrangements, health and wellbeing programs, a learning and development program including study support, and a reward and recognition program.
We are seeking a Payroll Data Entry Officer on a part-time basis (21 hours a week) to work alongside the Team Leader Payroll and Payroll Officers to deliver accurate, compliant and timely payroll services for Council staff and management.
In this role, you will enter key attendance and timesheet data into the HRIS, support payroll reconciliation, and contribute to payroll processing tasks including overtime, allowances, and higher duties forms. You will also provide basic guidance through the payroll inbox, assist with new starter setup, and help manage employee variations.
Your strict adherence to statutory requirements, such as taxation and superannuation, and commitment to internal controls and record‑keeping procedures will be vital to maintaining service quality and legislative compliance. Your role will also involve preparing payroll‑related reports upon request, maintaining system records, and delivering exceptional customer service in a collaborative team environment. You will be expected to stay informed about relevant legislative updates and contribute to continuous process improvements.
