We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Delivery Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the coordination of payroll processing for the salaried monthly payroll, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and in line with processing deadlines.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Payroll Delivery Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in monitoring all input and control activities, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to optimise payroll processes.
Your expertise in payroll processing will be instrumental in providing guidance and support to the payroll function, especially in handling complex payroll activities.
Key responsibilities will include supervising the payroll team, ensuring compliance with payroll policies and regulations, resolving payroll-related issues, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to address payroll inquiries and provide expert advice on payroll matters.

PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Payroll experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of working with a salaried monthly payroll
  • Experience of managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in relevant IT platforms
  • Experience of working with both in-house and outsourced payroll environments
  • Solid UK legislation knowledge
  • Strong understanding of GDPR and data privacy requirements
Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of Payroll Coordinators, maintaining strong working relationships with the wider operational team responsible for the time and attendance input.
  • Maintain a strong, high-performing team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, performance management, and resource planning.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on approach to problem solving and team support.
  • Support the Payroll Delivery Manager – Salaried and O&P with tasks as necessary to deliver a compliant, accurate, and timely payroll.
  • Responsible for more complex administration tasks, such as advances, loan deductions, and TUPE loads.
  • Complete second-level output control checks of the salaried monthly payroll in line with the control framework.
  • Help to manage the third-party payroll provider SDWorx to ensure the payroll is processed in line with contractual SLAs and KPIs.
