Description Job Title: Payroll Engineer Location: Remote Revised: 12/13/25 Job Summary In this unique and rewarding position, the Payroll Engineer supports and oversees all aspects of payroll operations for our clients. You’ll apply your already established skillset and knowledge to recommend enhancements to clients’ current practices, implement best practices, and process quality and timely payroll. You’ll play the liaison between the client and their chosen vendor, completing payroll projects and tasks, and administering all payroll changes.? Job Duties Knowledge of Paylocity and PayCor platforms preferred. Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Demonstrated ability to identify and implement payroll process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Strong payroll balancing skills to ensure precise and error-free processing. Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex customer needs and scenarios. Ability to perform payroll-related calculations, including bonuses, commissions, and retroactive pay adjustments. Capable of creating, maintaining, and updating SOPs to ensure consistency in processes and documentation. Foundational understanding of payroll taxes, compliance requirements, and regulatory considerations. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills Experienced in managing client-facing communications. Superior verbal and written communications skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines with proven time management skills. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. Working understanding of payroll principles, practices, and procedures. Payroll and benefits experience required. Client payroll onboarding experience preferred. Working understanding of payroll principles, practices, and procedures. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to move up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to participate in video conferences/meetings.
