Description Position Summary The Payroll / HR Generalist supports the Human Resources function with a primary focus on accurate, compliant payroll processing while also providing generalist-level HR support across employee lifecycle activities. This role serves as a key partner to HR leadership, supervisors, and employees to ensure payroll integrity, data accuracy, and adherence to employment laws and company policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, including regular wages, overtime, PTO payouts, bonuses, stipends, and other earnings. Review, audit, and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy before submission and final approval. Maintain payroll records, deduction codes, tax files, garnishments, and related documentation. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, payroll tax requirements, and reporting deadlines. Coordinate payroll changes related to new hires, terminations, promotions, pay changes, and job changes. Partner with HR leadership and Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies and improve payroll processes. Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and audits. HR Generalist Responsibilities Administer employee data changes within the HRIS to maintain data integrity and confidentiality. Support onboarding, orientation, and employee lifecycle documentation. Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee inquiries related to compensation and benefits. Provide guidance to supervisors and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices. Support employee relations activities, including documentation, investigations, and compliance tracking. Assist with audits, reporting, and HR compliance initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and HR compliance requirements. High attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS / payroll systems. Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3+ years of experience in payroll and human resources administration. Experience supporting payroll processing in a multi-site or manufacturing environment. Paylocity HRIS experience preferred. Physical & Work Requirements Primarily office-based; may require occasional lifting of files or materials. Regular use of computer systems and office equipment.
