EXPERIENCE

  • Payroll Expertise: 2–5 years of payroll experience with essential hands-on payroll implementation background and strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practices.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The Payroll Implementation Specialist is responsible for implementing our brand-new customers and completing configuration for our existing customers when requested. The role includes managing customers for up to six months onboarding them into Fourth, payroll and pension processing, delivering excellent customer service and daily problem solving.
You will be a highly confident and motivated individual with prior experience in Fourth Solutions. This individual will work with our Sales, Project Management, Professional Services, Solution Consultants and Customer Success teams in every stage of the customer life cycle to provide new and existing customers with a quality implementation.
You will work closely with Fourth’s prospects and customers understanding their business, payroll and pension implementation to meet their requirements to enable the delivery of their payroll and pension that works well for each customer creating value and maximising growth opportunities. You will develop a deep understanding of the implementation service and the ability to transform our customers’ requirements as well as consulting on best practice within payroll and pension. You will build great relationships and act as an ambassador for the company and our products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Payroll & Pension Implementation: Manage onboarding, configuration, payroll processing, pension administration, and RTI compliance for a portfolio of customers.
  • Customer Engagement & Service Delivery: Build strong client relationships, deliver excellent service aligned with SLAs, and support customer loyalty throughout the lifecycle.
  • Technical Configuration & Demonstrations: Handle setup of PAYE, pay basis, pension schemes, and tax balances; perform data uploads, parallel runs, and system exports; deliver solution demos and assist with RFPs.
  • Reconciliation & Compliance: Conduct payroll and pension reconciliations (FPS, EPS, tax, opt-ins/outs), resolve HMRC queries, and ensure RTI accuracy including rollbacks and EYU submissions.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management: Lead discovery sessions, document requirements, create task timelines, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders through implementation and hypercare.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process enhancements, share expertise within Payroll Operations, and maintain up-to-date documentation and statutory knowledge.
  • Communication & Documentation: Manage customer communications on legislation and timetables, maintain payroll procedure manuals, and ensure smooth handovers during absences.
  • Team Collaboration & Flexibility: Support BAU teams during peak periods, assist colleagues during leave, and demonstrate a proactive, team-oriented approach in a dynamic environment.
