Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter (CAWES) builds bridges to a better future for women and children impacted by violence. CAWES is seeking a highly motivated, ‘do what it takes’ individual with a ton of initiative and union experience to manage the building administrative and perform all payroll/HR functions at CAWES. CAWES strives to provide the highest standard of service with integrity and commitment, and to make a positive contribution to the lives of our clients and community.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Post Secondary Business Administration Diploma or related program an asset
· Minimum two years hands-on full cycle payroll experience with PCP designation; Payworks software knowledge an asset
· Minimum three years administrative/office management skills including supervision; strong business acumen
· Highly knowledgeable concerning CRA regulations, Employment Standards Code, Human Rights laws, WCB, ROEs, and other related external reporting bodies
· Direct working knowledge of group benefits, group RSP, and Health Spending Account
· Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating payroll procedures, processes, and policies to ensure consistency with collective agreements, employee handbooks, Human Resources policies, guidelines, and established precedents
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail
· Highly motivated and proactive with a client centric attitude
· Experience in, or exposure to a Non-Profit organization considered an asset
· Self-starter who takes initiative and anticipates the needs of clients and employees
· Excellent Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills an asset
· Strong system and data flow knowledge, ability to learn and adapt to new process flows and technologies
· Proven commitment to community
· Understanding of provincial privacy laws, collective agreements, dealing with the union and confidentiality
