Description
Overview Planning, overseeing, and leading payroll projects to drive process improvements across a mega project. What you will be doing To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Evaluates current processes, procedures, systems, and tools and develops project plans to address inefficiencies within the payroll function for the mega project. • Partners with internal and external teams to improve operational effectiveness of the mega project payroll function.• Reports team results to key stakeholders, including presentations to leaders.• Manages the adoption of newly implemented initiatives (internal and/or external).• Supports employee onboarding by verifying, collecting, and entering employee benefits, demographics, and personal data into HRIS. • Prepares and pays federal withholding including Medicare, Social Security, Federal Income Tax, Child Support withholdings, as well as federal unemployment taxes. • Reviews all certified payroll for subcontractors.• Leads all communications to internal and external customers. • Documents and trains affected parties on new processes, procedures, systems, and tools.• Assumes a leadership role to ensure project meets all agreed to deliverables.• Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.• Supports and abides by published corporate policies. • Performs additional assignments per management’s direction. What we are looking for Education and/or Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required. • 8+ years’ experience with in-house payroll processes required. • Experience with JDE World and JDE One environments preferred. Certifications and/or Licensing Requirements • US Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Canada Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Knowledge of payroll practices and applicable legislation. • Ability to perform detailed analysis and apply business acumen to develop insightful valued-added solutions/process improvements.• Effective communications skills (oral and written), including presentations to all levels within an organization.• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.• Planning & organizational skills, results-oriented, and the capability of driving multiple projects simultaneously to completion.• High initiative, strong judgment, and solutions orientation.• Strong team orientation.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc) and payroll systems.
