Nano Fire is a leading Fibre Installation business dedicated to providing exceptional service. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of UK payroll legislation and a strong background in managing payroll functions.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role, with in-depth knowledge of UK payroll systems and processes.
  • Strong understanding of UK tax laws, National Insurance contributions, pensions, and other statutory payroll requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., Sage, BrightPay, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to employees.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • AAT or CIPP qualified (or equivalent qualification) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of auto-enrolment pension schemes and other employee benefits.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for circa 400 employees across various locations.
  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, including tax, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments.
  • Manage payroll systems and processes, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Liaise with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee data.
  • Review and process statutory payments, including sick pay, maternity/paternity leave, and pensions.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting of payroll-related costs in the company’s financial system.
  • Prepare and submit PAYE and RTI (Real Time Information) filings to HMRC.
  • Address and resolve any payroll-related queries from employees in a timely manner.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior payroll staff, ensuring team development.
  • Conduct payroll audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Stay updated on any changes to payroll legislation and implement necessary changes in payroll systems.
