Our portfolio of companies requires a highly skilled, detail-oriented, hands-on Payroll Manager to oversee payroll and related accounting functions nationwide. This role blends payroll expertise with strong financial and analytical acumen, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.   Responsibilities: * Manage and perform all aspects of payroll including but not limited to day-to-day operations, process and workflow standardization and management, project management, payroll tax & accounting, and internal/external audits. * Lead all payroll related accounting procedures, including GL Payroll account reconciliations and journal entries including actual payroll processed and accruals on a monthly basis * Manage the preparation and processing of all Payroll related activities for all team members across Canada, hourly and salaried on a biweekly basis using ADP WFN and Dayforce HCM. * Ensuring payroll accounting procedures are accurate and complete and meet the requirements of both internal and external auditors. * Prepare monthly reconciliation, annual returns of remittance and filing of all Government agencies including CRA, Revenue Quebec, Health & Levy Taxes and all provincial WCB source deductions * Compiles year-end processing and reporting for T4, T4A, Relevé 1, T2200s, taxable benefits, garnishee, EHT, WSIB, CSST. Prepare and submit all annual returns by required deadline. * Ensure all legislative requirements regarding tax withholding, remitting tax payments, fulfilling wage garnishments, preparing T4’s, and income reporting have been met both on-going and at year-end * Perform audits on data and system maintenance in Dayforce HCM and ADP WFN, including, but not limited to, new hire, direct deposit, benefits, garnishments processing, tax forms and terminations setups. * Identify process improvement opportunities and lead the implementation of new payroll processes and systems. * Lead the payroll team by providing coaching and guidance in payroll process and compliance * Provide support to all areas of the business (stores, corporate offices and distribution centre) for any payroll related questions / inquiries or provincial payroll related legislation. * Assist with implementation and testing of custom applications, internal interfaces and upgrades to ADP WFN and Dayforce HCM.   * Ensure all Federal and Provincial legislative updates are reflected in ADP WFN and Dayforce HCM * Maintain confidential information by legal or ethical standards and a high level of professionalism to ensure privacy of employee records. * Act as a liaison with all Government agencies and assist with internal / external audits including CRA and WCB/WSIB.   Qualifications: * 5+ years of management and Canadian payroll experience, including on-depth knowledge of payroll legislation of the Federal and Provincial Tax Regulations * Strong accounting background with experience in payroll reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, accounting principles, practices and general ledgers Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or certified Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation is an asset.   * Extensive and thorough working knowledge of Dayforce HCM and ADP WFN required * Experience with Oracle Financial system and Microsoft Dynamics NAV  * Strong working experience of MS Office Suite – Outlook, Word and Excel * Superior communication skills, both written and oral. * Proven interpersonal, organizational, mathematical, and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail * Detail-oriented, analytical, flexible, and able to adjust to changing work demands and deadlines.
