OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for the management of the payroll function, including accurate and timely administration, processing and auditing of payroll, ensuring compliance with all internal and external requirements. This position supports the Accounting Department in the monthly close process (payroll journal entries, payroll account reconciliations, etc.). This position reports to the Controller, with significant interaction with the Human Resources Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • UltiPro (UKG/Kronos) payroll processing experience strongly preferred
  • Payroll/benefits administration experience in a complex organization
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or CPP certification preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with high level of Excel knowledge
  • Demonstrated excellence in internal and external customer service
  • Commitment and ability to meet fixed deadlines
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Administer payroll using agency EMR system, which is currently integrated with UltiPro (UKG/Kronos)
  • . Receive, process, reconcile and audit employee time and related documentation, pay rates, work hours, tax withholdings, adjustments, benefit and statutory deductions, new hires, and terminations in accordance with established payroll practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Process and remit 403B employee and employer contributions.
  • Create and maintain accurate and complete payroll and benefit records and statistics for monthly and annual reporting (internal and external).
  • Maintain payroll process and procedures, recommending revisions or the creation of new procedures as necessary.
  • Reconcile 941 returns to the general ledger
  • Prepare account reconciliations as assigned
  • Serve as a technical resource for employees; respond to inquiries regarding payroll.
  • Coordinate and assist with required reporting (ACA, ERISA, EEO) and annual audits (financial, retirement plan, workers’ compensation).
  • Monitor and audit PTO tracking system, including accruals, usage, carryovers, policies and adjustments
  • Complete all year-end required reporting and tax filing (W2s, 1095-C, third party sick pay, group term life, etc.).
  • Provide necessary information to accounting department for funding, tax filings and reconciliation of payroll to the general ledger.
