Description

Precision Well Servicing is the largest service rig provider in Canada, with an impressive fleet of equipment, service rig professionals and strong relationships with top-tier companies. Precision is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team.
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day activities for the Payroll team ensuring the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll. Depending on experience and qualifications, candidates may be considered for a Payroll Manager position.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certificate with NPI is required
  • Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) Designation Preferred
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience in a manager capacity
  • Dayforce experience is required
  • Experience with large volume payroll processing in a multi-province environment
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and provincial tax and labour regulations

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to promote a positive, cohesive team environment
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, with intermediate knowledge of excel
  • Exceptional prioritization & organizational skills in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities
  • Review and sign off on all bi-weekly salary and hourly payrolls
  • Perform checks on HR/Payroll systems to ensure compliance with legislation and company policy
  • Oversee administration of all company Benefits Programs and Retirement Savings Plans, including employee changes, billings, reconciliations and reporting
  • Verify amounts for third party payments
  • Gather and provide required documentation for payroll audits
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for various departments and outside agencies
  • Set performance goals and conduct performance assessments for direct reports
  • Provide training and development for direct reports
  • Assist with reviewing, updating, and developing processes and procedures for the payroll team
  • Lead year-end processing, including manual adjustments and T4 preparation
  • Assist with filing WCB year-end reports
  • Ensure that excellent customer service is being met regarding the Payroll Help Line and other related areas
  • Ability to work on weekends or general holidays when required
