Description:

Robert Half is partnered with our client, a leading management consulting firm dedicated to helping organizations achieve their strategic objectives and drive business growth. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Payroll Manager to join their organization. The Payroll Manager will oversee payroll operations for our Canadian offices. The Payroll Manager will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees, while also managing payroll-related systems and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and Ceridian Dayforce systems.

YOUR KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in a multi-site or multinational organization.
Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, tax regulations, and labor standards.
Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and Ceridian Dayforce payroll systems is required.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex payroll processes and data accurately.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Prior experience in management consulting or professional services industry is an asset.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing cycle for Canadian employees, including data input, validation, and reconciliation.
Ensure accurate calculation and timely distribution of salaries, wages, bonuses, and other payments in compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
Review and approve payroll transactions, adjustments, and deductions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Serve as the primary administrator for ADP WFN and Ceridian Dayforce payroll systems, overseeing system configuration, setup, and maintenance.
Collaborate with IT and HR teams to implement system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations to optimize payroll processes and efficiency.
Troubleshoot system issues, provide user support, and coordinate with vendors for resolution of technical issues.
Stay informed about changes in Canadian payroll legislation, tax regulations, and labor laws, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Prepare and submit payroll-related filings, remittances, and reports to government agencies, including CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) and provincial authorities.
Conduct periodic audits of payroll data, records, and processes to identify discrepancies, errors, or areas for improvement.
Provide guidance and support to HR and finance teams on payroll-related matters, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll issues, deductions, and benefits, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
Coordinate with external auditors for payroll audits and compliance reviews as needed.
