SOL is a rapidly growing integrated mental health platform, offering virtual and clinic-based care in 5 states and Washington D.C with further plans for growth. The Payroll Manager will manage all aspects of payroll processing and administration across multiple states, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing, tax compliance, and benefits reconciliation. This hands-on role offers growth potential into broader management responsibilities as our organization expands.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a full-service payroll role
- Demonstrated experience with multi-state payroll processing and tax compliance
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Experience with benefits administration and reconciliation
- Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and process improvement mindset
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Healthcare industry experience
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
- Experience with multiple payroll systems and implementations
- Project management experience
- Leadership or team supervision experience

Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing for employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee benefits reconciliation and integration with payroll systems
- Process and file payroll taxes, including quarterly and annual returns
- Manage cost allocation processes across departments and programs
- Serve as primary liaison with our payroll technology vendor to optimize system functionality and implement improvements
- Maintain detailed documentation of payroll procedures and policies
- Review and approve payroll changes including new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments
- Generate and analyze payroll reports for management review
- Stay current with payroll regulations and tax law changes
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Participate in annual audits and provide necessary documentation
