About the role:
The Payroll Manager plays a vital role in keeping our chi flowing behind the scenes. With over 1,000 team members across the country and more joining us each week, we’re looking for a detail-driven, people-focused leader to own and manage our end-to-end payroll processes.
This is a hands-on role for someone who loves the fast-paced rhythm of hospitality, thrives in a multi-site environment, and brings a strong understanding of award interpretation and compliance. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll work closely with Operations, People & Culture, and Talent Acquisition to ensure every Yo-Chi team member is paid accurately, compliantly, and on time- every time.

Oversee and process weekly payroll for 1,000+ employees in line with the Fast Food Industry Award

Lead and develop a small team of 2–3 part-time payroll staff

Manage time and attendance systems (Tanda), including onboarding, roster checks, and leave approvals

Ensure compliance with superannuation, PAYG, and payroll tax across multiple states

Maintain accurate employee records, partnering with Ops and Talent teams to ensure data integrity

Interpret award conditions and support internal audits and payroll queries

Continuously improve payroll processes and workflows to support our scale-up journey
