Description

THE CANDIDATE:

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Officer/Assistant with experience in processing payroll for small and medium-sized businesses in Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a thirst for knowledge, and the ability to manage various payroll functions efficiently.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

  • Liaise directly with clients regarding payroll processing.
  • Maintain an up-to-date spreadsheet of payrolls to be processed.
  • Enter new employees onto payroll software using Starter Checklist and/or P45.
  • Check HMRC for any changes in student loans or tax codes.
  • Process payrolls according to client deadlines.
  • Calculate employee salaries, including sick pay, holiday pay, SMP, etc., as instructed by clients.
  • Handle payroll queries from clients and employees.
  • Communicate with HMRC on PAYE queries on behalf of clients.
  • Send payslips, P45s, P60s, as requested.
  • Process year-end payroll tasks.
  • Upload P60s at year-end and complete pension-related tasks for clients.
  • Ensure pension contributions are uploaded to clients’ respective pension schemes.
  • Complete pension regulator declaration of compliance when due.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required.
