The Opportunity We’re looking for a driven Payroll Officer to join our team and ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll while supporting employees, managers, and stakeholders across the business. In this role, you’ll work closely with the payroll team, Finance team, People Services team, department managers, and employees, and report directly to the Payroll Manager in Eveleigh, Sydney. What you'll do: Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time across fortnightly pay cycles. Maintain employee payroll records, including new starters, changes, and terminations within HR and payroll systems. Process timesheets, invoices, and payroll data while ensuring accuracy within payroll and finance systems. Respond to payroll-related queries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Prepare payroll reports, assist with termination and redundancy calculations, and support continuous improvement initiatives. What you'll bring: You’re a detail-oriented, organised, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering accurate payroll services while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders. You’ll also have: Demonstrated payroll experience with the ability to process payroll accurately and efficiently. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet strict deadlines. Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with various payroll systems considered desirable. Ability to manage confidential information while working effectively within a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities
The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely end-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll cycles, maintaining all employee payroll records, and processing timesheets and invoices within finance systems. This role also involves responding professionally to payroll-related queries, preparing reports, assisting with termination calculations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
