Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

This newly created position will see you working as part of an energetic and supportive team of three, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager. You will be responsible for processing payroll across multiple enterprise agreements (EBA) and awards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all payroll-related activities. You will also liaise closely with staff across various sites to ensure smooth operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • End-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly, and ad-hoc payroll runs
  • Onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hires and terminations
  • Preparation and lodgement of payroll tax, PAYG, work cover, and superannuation contributions
  • Accurate data collection, calculation, and entry to maintain payroll records
  • Investigation and resolution of payroll discrepancies
  • Calculation and processing of termination payments, leave entitlements, and other deductions
  • Processing workers’ compensation claims and deductions
  • Maintenance and updating of employee records, including rates, classifications, and master data
  • Providing timely and accurate payroll advice and support to employees and managers
  • Other ad-hoc payroll duties as directed by the Payroll Manager

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll processes in a similar role
  • Exposure to multiple EBAs and award interpretations
  • Strong background in high-volume payroll processing
  • Proficiency in business payroll systems (experience with multiple platforms is highly regarded)
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong numeracy skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a larger team
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A professional, calm, and collaborative approach when interacting with colleagues and stakeholder
