Responsibilities

As a Payroll Officer, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end processing of monthly payrolls, ensuring compliance with relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and legislation. You’ll act as a subject matter expert within the team, resolving complex payroll queries, coaching and mentoring peers, and identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes.

You’ll liaise closely with HR, Finance, Reward, and external payroll providers to ensure data accuracy and process efficiency. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering great service while driving improvement.

  • Process accurate and timely monthly payrolls, including off-cycle payments when needed.
  • Manage payroll-related queries and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Ensure payroll compliance by interpreting salaried contracts, Awards, and EAs.
  • Maintain payroll records and review pay journals and reports.
  • Support payroll training, onboarding, and process documentation.
  • Act as a super user for payroll systems such as Oracle HRIS and Preceda.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and transformation projects.
