Your Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you'll be a key member of the Finance & Commercial team, responsible for delivering accurate and compliant payroll services while supporting end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes. You'll work closely with our managed payroll provider and internal stakeholders to ensure payroll is processed accurately, financial records are maintained, and continuous improvements are implemented across finance operations.

You'll:

  • Coordinate the preparation, verification and processing of fortnightly payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Industrial Awards, agreements and statutory requirements.
  • Support end-to-end accounts payable and receivable activities, including invoice processing, reconciliations, payment runs and maintaining data integrity across financial records.
  • Partner with our managed payroll provider and internal stakeholders to provide expert payroll advice, resolve payroll queries and ensure accurate employee payments.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations, support end-of-financial-year payroll activities and contribute to accurate monthly and annual financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to payroll systems, policies and processes to enhance efficiency, compliance and service delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships across the business while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.

You'll need

  • Demonstrated experience in an end-to-end payroll position within a complex organisation.
  • Relevant qualifications in accounting, bookkeeping or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, payroll principles, Industrial Awards and employment agreements.
  • Coordinate the preparation, verification and processing of fortnightly payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Industrial Awards, agreements and statutory requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end accounts payable and receivable activities, including invoice processing, payment runs, reconciliations, resolving invoice queries and maintaining the integrity of financial data.
  • Partner with our managed payroll provider and internal stakeholders to provide payroll advice, support financial reporting, and drive continuous improvement across payroll and finance processes.
  • Excellent analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage confidential information with integrity.
  • A high level of computer literacy, including intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly desirable.
