Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years working in an automated payroll environment managing multi-province payroll.
  • Workday Payroll and ADP (preferred)
  • PCP designation or InProgress (preferred)
  • Experience with Ontario + Quebec payroll legislation (required)
  • Knowledge of Albert, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick payroll legislation (preferred)
  • Previous experience with process improvement, change management, and implementing best practices (preferred).
  • Excellent time management skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Responsibilities
  • Support with end-to-end payroll processing to ensure compliance with government regulations, company policies, and timely processing of payroll, funding, and tax filings.
  • Act as a consultant for internal employees and stakeholders for payroll matters and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Calculating payroll taxes, wage garnishments, employee deductions, and ensure payroll data aligns with general ledger and financial systems.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partner Team, Talent Acquisition, Finance, People Analytics, Technology Enablement, and Legal to ensure seamless payroll operations and compliance with employee benefits, bonuses, and compensation adjustments.
  • Assist with change management initiatives related to payroll processes and system enhancements, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption.
  • Work with Workday Payroll and ADP third-party vendors to proactively address technology and process-related issues while identifying opportunities for payroll process improvements.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for leadership, maintain audit readiness, and ensure backup support for payroll team during absences.
