PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven payroll experience.
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, Auto enrolment pensions).
  • High numeracy, attention to detail and integrity in handling sensitive data.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g. Sage, Iris, Xero Payroll) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication, customer service approach and ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities
  • End to end payroll processing: collect hours, calculate pay, deductions (PAYE, NI, pensions) and initiate BACS transfers.
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll records, ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance.
  • Support payroll software: data entry, system updates, reporting (payslips, P60/P45/P11D).
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees, HMRC and other stakeholders.
  • Undertake regular payroll audits and proactively resolve discrepancies.
