Job Title: HR - Payroll Specialist Job Description Join a dynamic HR team in a hybrid role where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in payroll processing and HR functions. Responsibilities Serve as the point of contact for all timesheet-related inquiries, assisting managers and employees to ensure timely and accurate submissions. Monitor timesheets to identify and resolve discrepancies, obtaining necessary approvals to meet payroll deadlines. Process biweekly payroll for over 120 exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states, ensuring high accuracy. Handle regular, off-cycle, and bonus payrolls, including manual checks for adjustments and final pay for terminations. Ensure proper processing of wage garnishments, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions. Prepare and maintain payroll reports, including quarterly and year-end filings. Participate in weekly team meetings to review issues, share feedback, and support continuous improvement. Administer benefits, assist with onboarding and terminations, and conduct salary and job description reviews. Answer employee questions about benefits and payroll discrepancies. Assist with employee relations situations surrounding payroll or benefits. Coach managers and employees on issues related to payroll. Plan team events and holiday parties. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience with Ceridian/Dayforce for payroll processing required. 3-5 years of experience in payroll. Comprehensive HR knowledge, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and salary adjustments. Experience in full cycle payroll processing and wage garnishments. Multi-state payroll processing experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in human resources, payroll processing, and benefits administration. Strong administrative support skills. Work Environment This hybrid role requires at least one day onsite, preferably more, with a mandatory presence on Tuesdays. Working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional flexibility needed for addressing employee questions and situations. The role involves direct interaction with the Director of HR and a Generalist, emphasizing a collaborative and innovative approach. The team values individuals who are comfortable thinking outside the box and suggesting new ideas. Dress code is business casual, and the work environment supports growth and development within the healthcare innovation sector. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brea, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
