Job Description The Role: The Payroll Specialist I is a dynamic role responsible for Payroll operations and management of Leave and Time & Attendance related activities and systems. Reporting to the Payroll Manager - ASEAN, the role serves as the primary owner for all Leave and Time & Attendance activities in Vietnam, ensuring on-the-ground execution of timely & accurate leave reporting, attendance reporting, and onboarding and offboarding of employees are handled with precision. This role needs to operate with minimal supervision, and requires a high level of execution capabilities for hands-on execution.The successful candidate must be a fast learner capable of maintaining the operational discipline required for payroll operations and compliances. Key Areas of Responsibility: Assume accountability for leave and attendance management & related statutory reports. Managing and resolving employee queries related to Attendance & Leave Management process and systems. Support onboarding of new employees and assume responsibility for data and document collection of new employees. Take responsibility for off-boarding process documentation and processing of final pay of separated employees. Preparation of payroll inputs based on attendance records of employees. Ensure overall compliance to applicable legislation & standards, and company policies. Lead and coordinate responses to internal and external audits. Liaison with various stakeholders including but not limited to internal & external auditors, payroll and time & attendance vendors. Assume responsibility for accurate reporting and data requests. Utilize digital tools (ServiceNow, Oracle) to develop and analyze non-standard reports. Qualifications Minimum graduate qualification. Post graduate qualification in HR or Finance will be an added advantage. 2 - 3 years of experience in Payroll Operations and HR Shared Services in a diverse and complex organization. Exposure to multi-country payroll experience in the ASEAN region is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Vietnamese. Customer focused mindset coupled with the ability to manage customers in an understanding and professional manner. Ability to build strong and effective relations with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Strong Drive for Results, Responsiveness, Speed and ability to navigate a matrix organization. Enthusiastic, self-driven individual with a positive mindset who is capable of working with individuals at all the levels and with stakeholders across different functions and geographies. Tech savvy, ability to quickly adapt to internal systems and high Proficiency in MS Excel is a must.
