We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist, who will be at the heart of ensuring accurate and efficient payroll and pension processes for our diverse range of clients. You’ll navigate a variety of payroll cycles with precision, maintaining compliance and delivering excellent client service.
We’re open to considering full time (37.5) or part time (30) hours, and have some flexibility on the days worked. The successful candidate will either be based in our Chesterfield office or based in one of our other offices (Sheffield, Leeds, Cleckheaton and York) with regular visits to the Chesterfield office.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a busy payroll role, ideally within a payroll bureau environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll processes, tax regulations, and pension auto-enrolment legislation.
  • A detail-oriented approach with excellent time management skills, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
  • A positive team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full payroll cycle, including annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly payrolls for UK employees.
  • Ensure precise and timely Real Time Information (RTI) submissions and year-end processing for HMRC compliance.
  • Handle statutory deductions and administer employer pension schemes, maintaining strict adherence to UK payroll and pension legislation.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, resolving payroll-related inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality while adhering to data protection standards.
