Job Overview: This is a office based role
One of our clients is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with Irish employment law. This role requires strong attention to detail, advanced knowledge of payroll systems, and a customer-centric approach.

KNOWLEDGE OF IRISH PAYROLL LEGISLATION IS MANDATORY

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, and supporting ongoing payroll needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing

  • Process payroll for employees on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, depending on client requirements.
  • Verify employee data, including salaries, deductions, and overtime.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages, taxes, and other withholdings.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all payroll activities comply with Irish Revenue and employment law regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of employee payments, adjustments, and benefits.
  • Prepare and file required statutory payroll reports, including P45s, P60s, and annual returns.

Reporting & Reconciliation

  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports.
  • Generate payroll-related financial and operational reports for client review.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors for payroll-related audits.

Customer Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee and client payroll queries.
  • Provide excellent service to clients, addressing questions and resolving payroll issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and other departments as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:

  • IPASS Payroll Qualification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
  • Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing, ideally within an accounting or payroll service environment.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (such as Sage Payroll, Thesaurus, or similar).
  • Knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with payroll compliance and Irish Revenue reporting requirements.

Personal Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, handle confidential information with discretion, and meet strict deadlines.
