Job  Summary: Reporting to Manager, Payroll - the Payroll Specialist  works in partnership with the Human Resources team and all department Managers and provides administrative support for Payroll functions. This role delivers superior customer service to all employees, liaises with external suppliers and provides support to organization's payroll and HR function. This role ensures legal compliance, accurate data entry and timely payroll processing. Key Responsibilities: * Process and administer weekly hourly payroll, including data entry, adjustments, and audits for accuracy. * Coordinate with managers to ensure timely and accurate collection of time and payroll data. * Maintain employee records (new hires, terminations, rate changes) and ensure payroll compliance. * Address payroll inquiries, including unionized employee matters, and resolve discrepancies. * Calculate gross-to-net payments, vacation accruals, and manage Record of Employment (ROE) issuance. * Ensure compliance with CRA, Employment Standards, and Workers’ Compensation requirements. * Support year-end processes (T4s, reconciliations) and provide ongoing technical support to employees. * Assist with administrative duties such as filing and shredding. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with PCP or CPM certification (Canadian Payroll Association). * 1–3 years of full-cycle payroll experience in a multi-province environment (ON, BC, QC). * Knowledge of payroll compliance, accounting, and payroll software (JDE an asset). * Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle confidential information. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficient in MS Office.   The salary range is $50,000 to $80,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data. The base salary is just one component of Ainsworth’s total compensation package, which also includes additional rewards and benefits such as short-term incentives and health insurance, among others.
