The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee information, wage and hour data, deductions, and tax information.
  • Review and verify timecards and attendance data for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and other earnings in accordance with applicable laws and company guidelines.
  • Ensure proper deductions for benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other withholdings.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams regarding new hires, terminations, and status changes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information at all times.
    Requirements:
    Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field preferred.
    Experience: 2+ years of payroll processing experience (multi-state payroll experience a plus).
