Description

Is Payroll your thing? Like delving into the details and keeping things moving?

ENAP is looking for an experienced Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our Finance & Administration Team based in Hemmant.

This is a hands-on role managing the end-to-end weekly payroll for 200+ trade-based employees, with additional accounting and finance support across the business.

You'll report to the Financial Controller and work inside a finance transactional team, whilst supporting the engineering and construction business where payroll is a process oriented weekly job, which will require you to understand timesheets, awards, allowances, overtime and the realities of a trade-based workforce.

What You'll Be Doing:

You'll take ownership of the weekly payroll cycle, including:

  • End-to-end weekly payroll using ProntoXi
  • Reviewing and validating employee timesheets
  • Interpreting awards, allowances, overtime, penalties, shifts and other pay conditions
  • Setting up new starters and processing employee changes
  • Managing leave reconciliations and employee terminations
  • Processing PAYG, payroll tax, pay day superannuation, child support, garnishee and PPL payments
  • Managing Q-Leave obligations
  • Processing workers compensation payments and year-end reconciliations
  • Managing Single Touch Payroll (STP)
  • Manage employee payroll queries
  • Payroll reporting and analytics
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with bank reconciliations, journals, fixed assets and other accounting tasks

Are You an ENAP Fit?

We're looking for someone who understands payroll, is comfortable working with a trade-based workforce and takes pride in getting the details right.

You'll have:

  • Proven payroll experience, ideally within engineering, construction, manufacturing or a trade-based environment
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and pay conditions
  • Demonstrated experience processing weekly payroll for a medium to large workforce, including trade timesheets, allowances, overtime, penalties and shifts
  • Experience with ERP/payroll systems - ProntoXi is preferred
  • Bookkeeping or general accounting support experience
  • Strong Excel and other Microsoft Office skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage queries, deadlines and competing priorities
  • A practical, team-focused approach with the ability to work independently

Why This Role Stands Out

Own the payroll - Take responsibility for the full weekly payroll cycle

200+ employees - A genuine high-volume growing payroll role with variety

More than payroll - Get involved in accounting cycle
