POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Payroll Specialist/HR Coordinator, you will be responsible for the full payroll process and benefits administration for our employees. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with ability to meet strict deadlines, adherence to company policies, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Position reports to the Controller.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience preferred
· Experience processing full “in-house” payroll
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
· Solid understanding/experience using Excel
· Strong communication skills that allow you to clearly explain complex payroll and benefit topics
· Proven ownership mentality
· Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
· Spanish/English bilingual is preferred, but not required

· Full “in-house” processing and reporting of payroll for two companies while ensuring accuracy in wages, withholdings & deductions.
· Processing of Union payroll, including expense reimbursements, and corresponding monthly Union Reporting for dues/fringes
· Full review of timecard entries and resolution of discrepancies, including maintenance of PTO and Holidays in TimeClock system
· Full onboarding of new hires, maintenance of employee personnel files, and processing of employee terminations
· Manage HR calendar with updates for approved time off requests
· Preparation of benefit packages for new enrollees and submitting to proper insurance carriers in a timely manner, including terminated coverage. Resolve any benefit related questions/issues.
· Benefit reconciliations to ensure accuracy with vendor billing
· Knowledge of employment policies and ability to apply/communicate those policies through HR and payroll
· Oversee Drug Free Workplace policies as they relate to pre-employment, injury and random testing
· Garnishment/child support maintenance and remittance
· Filing of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll taxes, including year-end W-2 processing
· Keeping informed of upcoming Payroll/HR changes and how they impact the company
