Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

To put it simply, as a Payroll Specialist, you will work in a small and supportive team and ensure effective operation of the payroll services for the Hydro Tasmania Group. No two days are the same in our organisation so you’re able to adapt quickly to changes but prioritise your tasks in a methodical manner.
There is a strong customer focus within this role and you will regularly work collaboratively and flexibly within the People and Capability team as well as across the wider organisation. There is an opportunity for you to provide continuous improvement for Payroll and the broader HR Services team as well as be involved in key projects and initiatives.
As a Payroll Specialist at Hydro Tasmania, you will…
✓ Ensure compliance with employment conditions, tax provisions, superannuation standards, applicable legislation and NES
✓ Develop, implement, and monitor the application of People and Corporate Affairs and payroll processes and data entry requirements
✓ Build strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals
✓ Provide advice and support on Payroll matters to the People and Corporate Affairs Team and wider business.

Relevant qualifications or significant experience working in a similar Payroll position is key to this role. Your experience will include:

  • Influencing and collaboration skills to manage and support team and stakeholders at all levels
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of accounting/Payroll principles
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Excellent attention to detail skills with pride in produced quality of work
  • Experience using SAP is desirable but not essentia
