PATH is seeking candidates who are passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Human Resources team as the Payroll Specialist, working out of our main office on Madison Avenue in Los Angeles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years’ experience in Payroll.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:

  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
  • Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
  • Tuberculosis Test
  • Background Screening
  • Drug Test
Responsibilities

As part of the HR Team, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the centralized payroll, and activities related to payroll preparation/processing. Position Responsibilities include:

  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data. Prepares and processes payroll via vendor software. Responsible for final review and coordination of any necessary research and/or contact with the payroll vendor.
  • Review quarterly and annual reports filed by payroll provider; ensure accuracy & timeliness.
  • Review and abide by company policies and procedures.
  • Resolve payroll errors.
  • Ensure payroll is submitted by established deadline.
  • Partner with Finance and Compliance to ensure an accurate & smooth transition of payroll data.
  • Assist with preparation of payroll information for annual 403b audit.
  • Assist with preparation of payroll information for annual Worker’s Compensation audits.
  • Process full-cycle Wage Garnishments.
  • Provides payroll information to employees and supervisors by answering questions & requests
