Job Overview: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately and timely processing payroll, maintaining accurate payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE (Average 3 days/week in office) - MUST LIVE IN DALLAS/FORT WORTH METROPLEX TO BE CONSIDERED - NO RELO AVAILABLE Compensation up to $65,000 per year Key Responsibilities: Prepare and process biweekly multi-state payroll for all employees. Ensures the timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies. Assist employees with Time and Labor and respond to payroll-related inquiries, providing timely resolutions and maintaining confidentiality. Validate new hires, terminations, and employee changes within Paylocity to ensure accurate first pay, final pay, and first pay with changes. Reconcile payroll before submitting for review. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with employees and department managers. Supporting internal and external payroll audits throughout the year. Responsible for performing accurate and timely month-end payroll reconciliations. Assist with year-end payroll activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications and Skills: Associate’s degree or at least 2 or more years of experience in payroll. Proficiency in payroll/HRIS software. Knowledge of Paylocity is a plus. Knowledge of the payroll function, including preparation, balancing, and internal controls. Knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local payroll tax regulations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must have experience processing payroll for 500+ employees Experience in with ERP systems required - NetSuite is a plus Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with employees and department managers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with at least an intermediate level of Excel. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have the required experience and qualifications with the ability to advance.
