Position: Payroll Specialist
Location: Fully Remote (First week is onsite in Eugene, OR area- lodging is covered) – must be located in Oregon and a drivable distance
Job Type: Direct Hire, Fully Remote, Full Time
Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 a year
We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join our client. As an ideal candidate, you should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll and possess an accounting, business, or finance degree.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 3 years of experience in union and multi-state payroll processing, payroll taxes, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or Business required
  • Strong understanding of union regulations, certified payroll, and compliance with local, state, and federal payroll laws.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately process union payroll for a small-to-mid-sized construction company, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and prevailing wage laws.
  • Maintain and verify the accuracy of all employee and payroll data within the payroll system.
  • Safeguard sensitive employee information and uphold strict confidentiality standards.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support year-end payroll functions, including tax filings and reporting (e.g., W-2s, union reports).
  • Collaborate with project managers and field staff to ensure smooth communication regarding timekeeping and labor reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support the payroll and HR functions.
