Description

Imperial Brands is a leading global FMCG company with more than 25,000 employees worldwide, operating across highly complex international supply chains and business models. As part of our ongoing global transformation, our central functions play a critical role in enabling a compliant, efficient, and employee-focused organisation.

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Hamburg. This newly created, permanent, full-time position will strengthen our eight-person payroll team and support the continuity of our payroll operations as knowledge and responsibilities transition within the team. The role offers a 50% hybrid working arrangement: you can work from home for 50% of your working time each quarter, with the remainder spent at our Hamburg office.

You’ll bring practical experience processing payroll in SAP HCM, work closely with your colleagues and receive support as you learn our specific processes and any additional systems.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time, following the required procedures and deadlines.
  • Use SAP HCM to carry out payroll activities and support reliable day-to-day operations.
  • Review payroll information carefully and follow up on discrepancies or missing details.
  • Work collaboratively with the payroll team to manage day-to-day priorities and maintain continuity as responsibilities evolve.
  • Contribute your practical payroll knowledge and help ensure important experience is retained within the team.
  • Take part in a structured onboarding process, with on-the-job training provided by your colleagues.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Practical experience working in payroll, including personally carrying out payroll processing.
  • A strong grounding in payroll, ideally built through hands-on experience from the ground up.
  • Previous experience processing payroll in SAP HCM. This is essential for the role.
  • Good English skills, with the ability to speak, understand and write in English.
  • A careful and dependable approach to payroll work, along with the ability to collaborate closely with colleagues.
  • A genuine interest in building your experience within a payroll team over the long term.
