COMPLIANCE & DOCUMENTATION

  • Ensure payroll processes follow relevant federal/provincial/state laws and company policies.
  • Assist with payroll audits and year-end tax reporting (e.g., T4s, W-2s).
  • Support reconciliation of payroll accounts and remittances to third parties.

What we are looking for

  • 2–5 years of experience processing Canadian and/or US payroll.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll fundamentals, legislation, and statutory deductions.
  • Experience with HRIS or payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Workday, UKG) is an asset.
  • PCP certification (or FPC) in progress or completed is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and payroll reconciliation processes.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general comfort with data entry and audit tasks.

Responsibilities

The Payroll Specialist plays an essential role in the accurate and timely processing of Canadian and/or US payrolls. This position is responsible for managing regular payroll cycles, processing employee changes such as hires and terminations, and resolving routine payroll issues. Working closely with HR and Finance, this role ensures that payroll operations run smoothly and in compliance with all relevant legislation and internal standards.
