Overview Under the guidance of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of weekly hourly payroll. This position involes managing taxes, garnishments and payroll deductions related to company benefits, contributing to the smooth operation of our payroll process. Responsibilities Assists with all aspects of payroll process: review and calculate time cards and make applicable changes; compute wages and salaries, mandatory and voluntary deductions; and generates direct deposit files, paychecks, and pay stubs. Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, reviewing insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers. Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages. Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests. Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals. Qualifications Experience / Education: Minimum two (2) years payroll experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting preferred. Compentencies, Skills, Knowledge Working knowledge of multi-state payroll, tax and year end process. Must work well under pressure to meet required deadlines. Skilled working with Outlook and Excel. Strong verbal/written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize work, excellent organizational skills, and initiative to improve processes Environment and Physical Demands This position requires you to be on site at our Alpharetta, GA headquarters office. Must be able to sit for extended periods while performing desk-based tasks and occasionally stand or move around the office as needed.
