POSITION OVERVIEW

Impact Housing is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely payroll and expense processing while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Specialist will oversee payroll for a medium to large workforce, leveraging ERP systems to manage employee data, track attendance, and generate reporting to support HR and Finance leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of payroll experience in a medium-to-large company setting.
  • Proficiency with ERP payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, wage/hour laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience generating and analyzing payroll and attendance reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in manufacturing, construction, or housing industries.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and integrations.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with NetSuite required.
  • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
  • Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have at least 3 years of payroll experience.
  • High school diploma required, A degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven experience working with payroll, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Process expense reimbursements and mileage reimbursements for employees in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain payroll records within the company’s HRIS system.
  • Ensure that timecard entries are accurate and completed on time, review regular hours, overtime, paid time off, and attendance.
  • Generate reports on time tracking, overtime, and attendance for leadership review.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and support audits.
  • Ensure proper handling of wage garnishments, benefit deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation up to date.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee payroll data and protect sensitive information at all times.
  • Assist with payroll-related or HR inquiries from employees and management.
