The Part-Time Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing and maintaining payroll activities for assigned clients. This added role requires hands-on experience with UKG Ready (preferred version), with additional familiarity in Paycom, ADP, or other small to mid-sized business payroll systems considered a strong plus. The Payroll Specialist ensures timely payroll processing, compliance with wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and provides support for reporting, audits, and employee payroll inquiries. This position is ideal for professionals seeking flexibility, work-life balance, parents re-entering the workforce, or individuals who want to supplement their income with part-time hours. This position provides work-life balance through a flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely. Hours will be up to 15 hours per week to start with the ability to increase based on additional clients and performance. Job Qualifications Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in small to mid-sized organizations. Direct experience with UKG Ready version is preferred; knowledge of Paycom, ADP, or similar payroll platforms preferred. Solid understanding of payroll regulations, tax reporting, and compliance. Benefits administration is also a plus. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Associate’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Payroll processing credentials are a plus. Primary Job Responsibilities Process and review payroll for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefits deductions. Generate payroll-related reports for management and finance. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. Respond timely to client/employee inquiries regarding payroll, timekeeping, and deductions. Support payroll audits and reporting requirements as needed. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate and consistent data. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company payroll information. Physical Demands Prolonged periods working on a computer. Occasional lifting of files or office supplies (up to 10 lbs). Ability to sit for extended periods while performing data entry and reporting tasks. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, compliance, and tax requirements. Proficiency with UKG Ready is preferred; along with working knowledge of Paycom, ADP, or other payroll systems. Analytical skills for auditing and reconciling payroll records. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with accuracy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
