Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

S&S Activewear is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. You will manage payroll-related tasks such as calculating wages, processing deductions, and ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time. Additionally, you will handle payroll inquiries, assist with year-end reporting, and work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations. Your expertise in payroll systems, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance will directly contribute to smooth business operations, employee satisfaction, and client retention.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Efficiently manage bi-weekly and ad hoc payroll processing for employees, ensuring precision and timeliness using advanced payroll software.
  • Accurately calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings for retroactive pay, unpaid leave adjustments, and other salary modifications, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Process total compensation adjustments for new hires, terminations, promotions, and employee status changes, maintaining a seamless payroll experience.
  • Thoroughly review and reconcile payroll data, including timesheets, bonuses, commissions, and other adjustments, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Stay up to date on evolving payroll laws and regulations, ensuring continuous compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements while incorporating industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure data integrity and alignment on employee changes, maintaining accuracy across all payroll-related information.
  • Provide timely and comprehensive support for employee inquiries related to payroll, including resolving pay discrepancies, adjusting tax withholdings, and clarifying deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed payroll reports for management and accounting purposes, offering actionable insights and fostering transparency.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system initiatives, supporting ongoing payroll and system enhancements to drive efficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, building strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues to support organizational goals.
  • Lead and assist with special projects and assignments, adapting to evolving business needs and contributing to organizational success.
