About the role: As one of the Payroll Specialists within the wider Payroll team this role is responsible for a portfolio of NZ based employees. Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed in a timely manner according to legislative requirements and in line with organisational policies and procedures. Some of your role scope includes: Process weekly pay runs for store staff. Ensuring transactions are processed to set deadlines. Reporting to agreed deadlines and responding to ad-hoc requests as needed. Provide legislative and policy interpretation to employees and managers. Maintaining database integrity. Preparation of manual payments for scheduled On Demand payment runs. Manage new and end dated Union Memberships in line with requirements. Ad hoc tasks and special project work as agreed and assigned. What you will bring to the role: NZPPA Certified Payroll technical qualification or be working towards obtaining this qualification. A minimum 5 years’ experience in a high-volume payroll capacity. Solid knowledge and understanding of all current NZ employment legislation. Previous exposure to working with Union membership requirements and processes would be ideal. Previous exposure to Pay Global would be ideal. Technically savvy across Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel. Excellent communication and a customer-centric approach.
