Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will oversee and process payroll operations for employees, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in payroll management.

Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for employees using payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now or Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Accurately input and update payroll data, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and benefits deductions.
  • Prepare and file year-end T4 statements in compliance with the Revenue Agency’s requirements.
  • Reconcile employee benefits, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related deductions to ensure accurate records.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll legislation and apply updates to payroll practices as needed.
  • Maintain and secure employee payroll records, ensuring that all data is accurate and confidential.
  • Generate payroll-related reports for internal departments, such as finance and management.
  • Provide support during internal or external payroll audits, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Address employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions in a meticulous and timely manner.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Canadian payroll processing.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian Dayforce, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, including federal and provincial tax laws.
  • Demonstrated expertise in year-end T4 preparation and submission.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in managing payroll data.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Familiarity with accounting functions and benefit administration is an asset.
