We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Arlington, Virginia. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to payroll and retirement plan administration within the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing payroll processes and retirement plans, ensuring compliance and delivering exceptional service to employees.

• Manage daily operations of 401k, 457b, 457f, and pension plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate audits, annual testing, and regulatory filings such as Form 5500.
• Serve as a liaison between plan vendors, internal stakeholders, and employees for retirement-related inquiries.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accurate deductions and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with tax agencies and vendors to address payroll compliance issues.
• Generate payroll reports, assist with audits, and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain and update plan documentation and employee education materials.
• Handle and resolve HR-related tickets, prioritizing retirement inquiries with precision and care.
• Uphold high standards of service excellence in all employee interactions.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and retirement plan administration, including 401k, 457b, and pension plans.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certifications in payroll or retirement administration are highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of retirement compliance regulations and payroll tax treatment.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Proficient in HRIS systems; experience with Dayforce is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Principal Financial Services platform is a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
