Description

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Markham, Ontario. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll operations with precision and adherence to deadlines.
  • Verify the accuracy of payroll reports through detailed audits and reconciliations.
  • Handle payroll-related documentation, including Records of Employment (ROEs) and tax forms.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating employee records, including new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
  • Support the preparation of various reports, including ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and year-end summaries.
  • Contribute to the administration and maintenance of company benefit programs.
  • Provide training and guidance to new management staff on payroll processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-provincial payroll regulations and union agreements.
  • Maintain organized payroll records to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a payroll administration role.
  • Certification from the National Payroll Institute (e.g., PCP designation) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now or Dayforce for payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations, taxation, and multi-provincial payroll practices.
  • Experience working within a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
