Description Job Summary: The Union Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of union payroll for employees working under various collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) across multiple states. This includes reviewing timesheets, calculating wages and fringes, ensuring compliance with union rules, and submitting accurate monthly reports and remittances to unions and benefit funds. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong knowledge of union payroll compliance, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Duties/Responsibilities: · Process weekly and biweekly payroll for union and non-union employees across multiple states and CBAs. · Review and validate timesheets, job codes, and cost centers for accuracy and compliance. · Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements, including pay rates, shift differentials, fringes, dues, and benefit contributions. · Prepare and submit fringe benefit and dues reports to applicable unions and trust funds. · Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in coordination with accounting and job cost teams. · Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, hours worked, and wages in compliance with federal, state, and union regulations. · Respond promptly to employee and union inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and deductions. · Support year-end reporting, audits, and compliance documentation as needed. · Collaborate with HR, project management, and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations. · All other responsibilities as directed by management. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: · Strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws, collective bargaining agreements, and fringe benefit reporting. · Proficiency in payroll systems (ADP, Paycor, Paylocity, Business Central Payroll integrations, or similar). · Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas). · Strong organizational and time management skills with a focus on accuracy and deadlines. · Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). · Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Education and Experience: · High school diploma or equivalent required · Three years of experience in payroll, accounting, or bookkeeping with at least one year of experience in payroll Preferred Experience: · Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field of study i.e. Business, Accounting, Finance, HR · Multi-state payroll experience · Paylocity software experience · Experience in construction, energy services, or industrial labor industries. · Familiarity with Davis-Bacon Act, Certified Payroll Reporting, and multi-union remittance processes. · Exposure to Business Central or similar ERP systems.
